Do you keep seeing the same numbers over and over? Repeating so often, you've heard yourself say something like, "This is almost scary!" or "This is starting to freak me out!"? If so, there is a good chance you are seeing angel numbers. And it is not a bad thing. It's really quite awesome.
But what exactly are angel numbers? How can I receive them, and how am I supposed to know what they mean? This post will introduce you to the world of angel numbers and answer some frequently asked questions about these amazing messages from the angels.

Do you know the Universe is primarily made up of energy? And at the basis of that energy are numbers? Each number has its own very specific energy.
Even if you are not mathematically inclined, this energy may be more beneficial in your life than you can possibly imagine.
Numerology is the study of this numerical energy. The numbers 1-9 each have meanings that provide information about your life path, future, and personality.
By knowing the numbers specific to you, you can better understand yourself, your relationships, and what you are meant to do with your life. Fascinatingly, numerology can also tell you what times in your life may be difficult or problematic. So you can head off potential problems.
Numerology is pretty amazing, but that is a different story. This guide is about angel numbers.
So What are Angel Numbers Anyway?
Angel numbers are kind of like numerology, but most people find them more useful in everyday life.
The angels and others in the spiritual realm use these numbers to pass on their messages of love, guidance, and support to those of us in the physical realm. All we need to do to receive these messages is to look up and pay attention to the world around us.
Just like numerology, each angel number resonates with a specific energy. And the energy each number resonates with provides useful information. This information guides you through situations that come up in your everyday life and helps you along your life path.
However, unlike numerology, which uses numbers to determine your personality and the life events expected to occur, angel numbers offer you a doorway to easily and effectively communicate with your angels and spirit guides.
Angel numbers go beyond numerology because they are imbued with angelic and spiritual meaning that tends to be more positive, uplifting, and helpful in our everyday lives. The numbers you see every day provide a way for your angels to give you special, encouraging messages as you navigate the aspects of living in the physical world.
Why Do Angels Use Numbers to Communicate? Why Not Just Talk to Us?
Speaking of energy. The angels and those of us in the physical realm resonate at different energy levels. Called vibrations. The angel's vibrations are very high, while ours in the physical realm are much lower.
In order for us to clearly communicate with those in the spiritual realm, we (the angels and us) must have our vibrational energy as close as possible. The closer our energies resonate, the easier it is to sense and understand each other. So this means we have to raise our energy while the angels also lower theirs.
Although this is possible and does happen quite often, it can be problematic because when we are most in need of love and guidance, the energy around us is usually vibrating at a very low frequency.
This makes it difficult for the angels to get their message across to you - when you probably need them the most.
So, the angels use numbers. Numbers are everywhere, and they are easy to see, no matter how low your vibes are at the time. So the angels can use them to get your attention and pass on their messages.
It is the prevalence of numbers in your life that gives the spiritual realm the opportunity and ability to communicate with you whenever they have something they want you to know. Even if you are experiencing a difficult time in your life and your vibrational energy is very low
All you need to do is be willing to accept the message, and angel numbers will appear.
How Do I Know If a Number Is an Angel Number?
If you see a number or sequence of numbers that stands out to you, you are receiving a message from the spiritual realm. Simple as that. Trust your feelings, intuition, and senses.
These numbers appear anywhere and everywhere. Including clocks, license plates, signs, street numbers, addresses, store receipts, and the change you get back at a store - anywhere you look. Usually, these numbers are spotted several times in a short period, making it obvious that something is up.
If you have seen a number or sequence of numbers an unusual amount of times, or if you have a feeling that something is going on when you see a number, it is most likely an Angel Number.
By paying attention and learning the meaning of the numbers, you will be able to receive the message your angels have for you. Messages are usually about guidance, making sure you are on the right path, advice, help with making a decision, or just a reminder that you are loved.
These messages from the angels are meant to guide, inspire, support, uplift, and advise you. They are always positive and loving.

If I see an Angel Number, How Will I Know What it means?
To know the meaning of a number, you have to learn it, but, more importantly, you also have to listen to your intuition and internal guidance. Each number 1-9 and 0 carries its own energy that spans several areas of our physical and spiritual life. Therefore, messages from the energy of each number will differ for each person and in every situation. Especially when you factor in that most angel numbers appear in sequences, creating an even more vast and diverse system of communication.
The easiest way to know what the angels are trying to tell you when you see an angel number is to look the meaning up somewhere (in a book or online). But just looking up the number and reading about it will not give you the full picture. So, in addition to learning about the number's energy, you have to turn inward and really pay attention to everything you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing.
Remember that angels and our spiritual guides speak to us through our intuition and subconscious minds, so your message does not end just because you saw a particular angel number. Trust your gut and listen to what is going on within you as you read about the energy of each angel number. Because within you is where you will truly find the answers and clarification that you need.

Angel Numbers and Number Sequences
Most of the time, when you see an angel number, it will be a sequence or combination of numbers that appear. This is not meant to complicate things for you; rather, it is a way for the angels to enrich and include more detail in the message they want you to receive.
If you see a sequence of different numbers, the messages take on a somewhat new meaning. However, once you get used to it, deciphering these messages is not as hard as it sounds. Because the message just carries the energy of each number at once. It's kind of like putting a story together from the base parts. Each number is an element or chapter of the whole story. Your intuition helps you put it together.
For example, 12. The angel number 12 combines the energy of the angel number 1 with that of the angel number 2. The angel number 1 is about new beginnings, fresh starts, individuality, and thinking positively. The angel number 2 carries the energy of balance and having faith even before you see the result. So the angel number 12 may mean that 'as you begin something new in your life to stay positive and keep faith in yourself because good things are coming from the situation - even though you may not see that just yet.'
If you see a series of a single number (such as 11:11, 222, 3333, etc.), the energy of the message is multiplied. It is kind of like the angels are repeating the number for emphasis. Or perhaps adding some exclamation points!!!
Not to mention a series of repeated numbers tends to catch our attention more easily. So you'll often see this kind of angel number.
Here's an example: as you know, the angel number 1 means you need to keep your thoughts positive and that you have just started, or are about to start, something the angels support. So, if you see the angel number 111, you know the number's energy is tripled and very important. It likely means that 'what you are starting is very important, it is especially necessary to keep your thoughts positive, and the angels are extremely supportive of this new beginning in your life.'
You can also reduce a sequence of numbers to get even more information. In this case, the angel number 12 also resonates with the angel number 3 because 1 + 2 = 3. The angel number 3 means 'you are on the right spiritual path, your dreams and goals are beginning to manifest, and you are likely being assisted by an ascended master.'
Put the meaning of the angel number 3 together with the meaning we got before from the angel number 1 and the angel number 2, and you get a fuller picture of what the angel number 12 means for you. This may be: 'As you begin something new in your life, stay positive and keep faith in yourself because good things are coming from this situation. Even though you may not see it just yet, you are on the right spiritual path, your dreams and goals are beginning to manifest, and you are likely being assisted by an ascended master.'
An Easy Guide to Angel Numbers
So, it is all well and good to need to remember the meanings of each number to understand the message, but then to put all those meanings together to create the story of your angel message takes quite a bit of practice and mastery. Personally, I think it is fun to put all the pieces together and craft a cohesive message from all the numbers I see, but most people don't have the time to do the research and memorize it all.

You still have to do the work of paying attention to your intuition and listening to your inner guidance to really get the true and accurate message for you. But I have taken the first steps in each post, which include the angel number's energy and several possible messages to combine or choose from. Ideally, this will help confirm what your intuition is already telling you, or give it a jump-start and help you get that "aha" moment of knowing what the message is about.
Please note: If you continue to have trouble figuring out what the message is, that is okay; there are many reasons this may happen. It may be that you're not supposed to figure it out on your own, or that something else needs to happen to help you put the story together. Sometimes it is just harder to interpret your own signs. This doesn't mean you can't do it, but sometimes we need some extra help.
